Oh boy. As I am currently in my Saturn Return (Saturn has returned to the same position it was in the sky when I was born, this takes 29.5 years) I am learning the joy of surrendering...and by learning, I really mean I am being taught, daily, how to.
If you don't know much about your Saturn Return, then feel free to do a deeper dive after reading this. I am here to remind you that often times the illusion of control grasps us so tightly that we forget there is a much greater force working to keep all of us (individually & collectively) in balance. This force which I call Source, Universe, God, Creator is always at play and what we must learn is how to surrender in times of uncertainty. When we are placed into the unknown, it can be frightening. Our Ego will try and convince us that we must be doing something in order to be of importance or to have some sense of clarity, but often times the surrendering of the doing leads to actions that are more in alignment with who you are becoming.
Your Saturn Return is all about taking inventory of your life. Now this may depend based on which sign your Saturn Return is in, for example, my Saturn Return is in Aquarius (like I said I am currently going through mine right now) and boy oh boy my main message is SURRENDER. What this really means is to allow everything that is falling away, to fall. To stop resisting the tides of change and instead to allow them to transform you.
I want you to think about the ocean. Now, even if you've never surfed or wanted to surf, I want you to read this as if you have some interest in it. The first lesson in surfing is understanding what to do when you will inevitably fall and be toppled by a wave. When you wipe out, what do you do? Do you try and swim to the surface immediately? Do you fight the wave? NO! I know this sounds counter intuitive in the beginning, but stay with me. You must surrender to the ocean because I promise you, you cannot fight it, you will not win and you will exhaust yourself completely. Instead, you must allow the wave to topple you, you must trust that as strong as the current is, there will be breaks in between and that is when you swim to the surface. See we often try to fight our way out of the waves of change, we try and hang on to things, people, jobs, etc. out of fear of change. Well, if I lose this, then who am I now? What's next for me? What if no one else enters my life? These are the questions that keep us rooted in trying to control the waves that are completely, and I do mean completely out of our control.
So what do I mean by all of this and how can it empower you? I mean to say that often in times of change our first instinct is to react, to freak out, to try and do something to hang onto our old realities and paradigms that are falling away, but when we do this we exhaust our life force energy. We are communicating that we do not trust that these changes are for our highest good and the good of all people. Instead, it is best, and often much more fun to lean into the mystery. Lean into what is changing in your life because that means you are becoming something or someone new and often times what we forget is that in order for better to come into our live's, the old must fall away.
If you asked for the best in your life then your best life is going to ask something of you. It is going to ask that you suspend disbelief, that you release control, that you release resistance, and that you fully surrender to the process, trusting all the while that this greater force has something even better in store for you than you can possibly imagine.
& so it is.
